Last week, India's top 10 companies went up by a whopping ₹65,302.5 crore. This rise reflects the overall increase in the market. Seven out of these top 10 companies saw gains, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and ICICI Bank making the biggest jumps.
Last week, the Indian stock market kept going up. The main Sensex index went up by 0.90%, and the Nifty index increased by 0.74%. But there's another important thing that happened the top stock exchanges had a special trading session. They did this to check if they're ready for any big problems that could happen. This special session was to make sure everything runs smoothly if there's a problem at the main place where trading usually happens.
Out of the top 10 companies, TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever, and ITC gained value, whereas Reliance Industries, Infosys, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI) lost value in their market capitalization.
TCS's worth in the market went up by a huge ₹19,881.39 crore, reaching a total of ₹14,85,912.36 crore.
ICICI Bank also saw an increase in its value by ₹15,672.82 crore, making its total worth ₹7,60,481.54 crore.
State Bank of India's market value surged by ₹12,182.1 crore, now standing at ₹6,89,917.13 crore, while HDFC Bank's value rose by ₹7,178.03 crore to reach ₹10,86,464.53 crore.
The worth of Hindustan Unilever increased by ₹5,051.63 crore to reach ₹5,67,626.01 crore, while Bharti Airtel's value rose by ₹4,525.14 crore to reach ₹6,38,721.77 crore. Meanwhile, ITC's value went up by ₹811.39 crore to ₹5,14,451.76 crore. On the other hand, LIC's worth decreased by ₹19,892.12 crore, reaching ₹6,54,763.76 crore.
